Charging for subscription is the only way HoneyMoney earns money. There're no ads, and your data is never shared with any partners. The income is spent on supporting the life of HoneyMoney and supporting the life of me :)

No, you don't need it to start your free trial. After 30 days all your data will be available in read-only mode, and you will be prompted to enter your credit card details.
You will be able to cancel anytime by clicking on "Cancel Subscription" button inside your account. You will have read-only access to your data after cancelling.
Yes, you can import transactions from CSV (Excel).
You can wipe your account and all of its data at any time.
